Generally lightly timbered with Box & Gum and heavily grassed with Spear and Forest Mitchell species.
There are extensive open plains running to sandy forest country of Ironbark and Ti tree with some Bloodwood, Bauhinia and Quinine, supporting annual native grasses.
Some areas are broken by scattered Lancewood ridges, rising in the east to a line of low rocky hills along the Gregory Range.
Edible shrubs occur throughout and there are isolated areas established to Verano and Seco Stylo. The country is ideally suited to large scale pasture development utilizing perennial Stylo species. There is abundant overhead feed and edible native bushes.
Esmeralda is accessible throughout and there is minimal waste country.
